Kis love them, adults love them. Cookies are a really fun and delicious treat to make with your family. You can make cookies in less than 20 minutes by following a simple online recipe.


What's great is you can use the same dough to make many awesome flavours of cookies at the same time. If dad likes dark chocolate - make some cookies with dark chocolate chips. You can use dark, bittersweet, milk, or white chocolate chips. 


What you need:

Butter

Granulated / Brown sugar

Vanilla extract

Eggs

Flour

Baking soda

Salt

And of course chocolate chips!



#2 Homemade Ice Cream

You don’t need fancy equipment to make ice cream at home. Just heavy whipping cream and sweetened condensed milk plus your favourite flavour is enough. 


I love ice cream. Especially vanilla or cookies and cream. Use snacks from around your kitchen to flavour your ice cream.

A quick smoothie makes a great snack & it is healthy too! You can use almost anything to create delicious smoothies in minutes. Mix in your favourite fruits. I like to use yogurt to make a deep and rich tasting smoothie. 

Other popular fruits include bananas, apples, oranges & strawberries. There are thousands of recipes online that you can check out. 

Take your favourite ingredients, drop them in the blender. Add milk or yogurt. Hit go - and your snack is ready in 5 minutes or less. 


#4 Fruit Salad

Instead of blending all your fruit - you can chop it up and mix it into a delicious fruit salad. For a healthy morning snack add yogurt. Fruit salad also makes a really good dessert after a meal. 


If you want to make it even better - why not add some hot custard. I am getting hungry just thinking about it.



#5 Nachos & Cheese

This has got to be one of my all time favorite snacks. I take my favourite nachos, add them to an oven proof bowl. Then I get salsa and pour it all over the nachos. Then I add cheese on top. Lots and lots of cheese. Put it in the over for 20 minutes or until the cheese melts. Be careful taking this out as it can get really hot.


I love eating cheese covered nachos when watching a movie. For a bit of extra flavour you can add some sour cream or guacamole. 


#6 Brownies 

Everybody loves brownies. And homemade brownies are the best. This is a really nice activity to do with your kids. 

There are so many fun recipes to try - classic brownies, nut brownies, chocolate brownies, mint, mocha and even red velvet brownies.

Pancakes are simple, quick & delicious. You can have thick fluffy pancakes or go for the french crepe style super thin pancake. 

My favorite are the thin ones. I add a chopped banana, ice cream and some whipped cream. We used to eat those a lot as kids and pancake day was one of my favourite days of the year.

Some people use pancakes as a savoury snack too. You can add ham, cheese and your favourite sandwich ingredients. Roll it all up and enjoy.
